ARE YOU SAVED?
Jesus teaches the one way to be saved is by believing in him....
X being good can’t save you.
X going to church can’t save you.
X being baptized can’t save you.
X being religious can’t save you.
Why?
Because no one can save themselves. Only Jesus saves. That is the Good News -- following Jesus saves you!
Because Jesus is Alive!
Now I would remind you of the gospel ...Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, he was buried, he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time. (1 Corinthians 15:1–6 ESV)
Jesus Lived The Life I Coudn’t
Jesus, God in human flesh, lived a perfect, sinless life. (Hebrews 4:15). We are born sinners and fall short of God's perfect standards (Romans 3:23).
Jesus Died For Me
Even though Jesus lived a perfect life, he was killed (crucified) for us (Romans 5:8) so that our sin can be forgiven. We deserve death but God offers us eternal life through Jesus' sacrifice in our place (Romans 6:23).
Jesus Rose From The Dead
Jesus did what no other person can do. He rose from the dead. Don't just take our word for it. Over 500 people saw Jesus alive after his death on the cross! Jesus' resurrection from the dead proves that Jesus can give us victory over sin (Romans 6:23), death (1 Corinthians 15:54-55), and defeat (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Jesus Said We Must Be Born Again
Jesus told a friend that when you believe in Jesus, and become a follower of Jesus, you will be born again. (John 3:3 / John 3:16). You now have a new life as a follower of Jesus!
God’s Perfect Design
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and he saw that it was good. (Genisis 1:1)
God created a perfect world without death or pain. So what happened?
Brokenness
God’s Perfect Design included freedom for man to make their own choices. Man chose to sin and that brought disease, disaster and death. into our world.
Many of us try to fix it by looking for hope all kinds of places, but they all fail.
The only way to fix the brokenness caused by sin is to repent and believe!
Repent and Believe
Jesus said we must be born again! That means we all need a spiritual birthday because we all need to repent of our sin and believe in Jesus as our lord and savior.
The moment you do that is the moment you’ll be born again! You’ll be saved!
How Can I Be Saved?
Today, if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. you will be saved! (Romans 10:9)
Choosing to follow Jesus is life's most important decision anyone can make!
Do you know you're a sinner and are you sorry?
Do you believe Jesus died and roses again?
Are you ready to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior?
If you’ve answered “yes” to those questions a great way to start following Jesus is to pray like this one.
Dear God,
I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead. I’m ready to follow Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Today I’m deciding trust you alone to save. Thank you for making me a part of the family of God. With your help I want to live the rest of my life for Jesus.
